Lyra
Lyra is a local macOS utility. The app itself does not collect, transmit, or store personal data. There are no in-app analytics, no crash reporting, and no telemetry. The app does reach the network for license validation, auto-update checks, and the URL handoff to Audita; each is described below.
None. The app does not collect any information about you or your usage.
Lyra requests Accessibility access in System Settings. This permission is used solely to intercept the F10, F11, and F12 key presses system-wide. No other input is read or recorded.
The app communicates with UA Mixer Engine through a local TCP connection on your machine. This communication stays entirely on your device - no data leaves your computer.
When you activate or validate a license key, the app contacts the Lemon Squeezy licensing API to verify your key. Only your license key and a machine name are sent. No personal data is transmitted beyond what is required for activation. If the app cannot reach the server (e.g. you're offline), it grants the benefit of the doubt and continues to run normally.
Payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy, an external payment provider. When you purchase the app, Lemon Squeezy's privacy policy applies to the transaction. Headroom does not receive or store your payment details. You can review Lemon Squeezy's privacy policy at lemonsqueezy.com/privacy.
When you use Audita's "Send to Lyra…" feature, Audita opens a lyra:// URL on the same Mac to hand a slot number, a name (e.g. "K-14"), and a dB SPL value to Lyra. The handoff happens entirely between two local apps via macOS's URL handler. Nothing leaves your device.
The headroomstudio.dev website uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, a cookieless, privacy-first analytics service. It records aggregate pageviews, top referrers, and country (no individual user tracking, no cookies, no GDPR cookie banner required). This applies to the website only; the Lyra app does not load these scripts.
If you sign up for the Headroom newsletter via the form on the website, your email address is sent to MailerLite, our newsletter provider. MailerLite's privacy policy applies. We use it only to send occasional release announcements; you can unsubscribe from any email. The newsletter form lives on the website and does not run inside the app.
Lyra uses Sparkle for automatic updates. Sparkle periodically fetches the appcast feed at https://headroomstudio.dev/lyra/appcast.xml to check for new versions. This request includes your macOS version and CPU architecture so Sparkle can determine compatibility; no personal data is transmitted.
If you're an EU or UK resident, you have rights under GDPR to access, rectify, port, or delete personal data we hold about you. In practice, Lyra holds no personal data on its own. The only personal data linked to you anywhere is what Lemon Squeezy receives at checkout (email address, billing info) and, if you've subscribed, what MailerLite holds (email address). To exercise any of these rights, email hello@headroomstudio.dev and we'll route the request to the relevant sub-processor.
To remove Lyra and its local data:
/Applications to the Trash.defaults delete com.headroom.Lyra in Terminal.Your license key survives this and reactivates on a fresh install. To clear the license too, deactivate it first via Menu → Manage License → Deactivate before uninstalling.
If you have any questions about this privacy policy, you can reach us at hello@headroomstudio.dev.
